What is Cushings Disease

Are elevated levels of the hormone cortisol known as Hypercortisolism. You do have to have several blood tests in order to if the hormone levels are elevated. It may mean that you have a pulmonary tumor.

When you visit your doctor he may asked you some of these types of questions before he chooses to run test.

  • muscle weakness
  • personality changes, mood swings
  • tiredness, fatigue
  • osteoporosis (for women)
  • water retention or swelling
  • high blood sugar or diabetes
  • high blood pressure
  • decreased fertility and libido (both men and women)
  • excess hair growth and menstrual disorders (women)
  • weight gain of the upper body and trunk
  • skin changes, such as darkening, purple stretch marks, acne, or easy bruising
  • moon-shaped face

Treatment for Cushings Disease is relatively simple. It is a process where they go through you nose called Endoscopic to view your pulmonary gland. If you have a pulmonary tumor it will also be removed through your nose.
