What Does Diabetes Have to Do With Heart Disease?

Diabetes is when your body does not produce insulin therefore you cannot get rid of the sugar that your body is producing.. Some may take shots while others take pills. If diabetes is not controlled with medication it can affect every organ in your body. This includes your heart.

There are two types of diabetes:
Type I: occurs when the body doesn’t produce any insulin
Type 2: the body either doesn’t produce enough insulin or the cells ignore the insulin. Nearly 95% of people who are diagnosed with diabetes have type 2 diabetes.

People who have diabetes are mostly likely to get heart disease. Too much sugar in the blood causes damage to many parts of the body, including blood vessels.

If is vitally important that a diabetic keeps his sugar under control.

Being overweight and diabetic can be very damaging to your body and can create heart disease.

Losing weight helps a lot of your health problems. For example, if you have been told that your blood pressure is too high, losing weight can bring it down. If your blood sugar level has been hard to control, losing weight can help.

Keeping your weight and your sugar under control may help to avoid deadly risks later.
