What is Digitalis?

Often times when you have heart disease you might be put on medication for many reasons. Digitalis is a powerful and known medication for people who have heart conditions and heart problems. What makes Digitalis so unique is that it is over two hundred years old and comes from leaves. 

When William Withering discovered Digitalis there was a lot of research done. At first the trials proved to be unsuccessful but during the 19th century things changed as more information was made on how to use it and what the benefits where. Before hand Digitalis  could cause insanity, asthma and even tuberculosis but with the new and improved changes, it does not. However, if you take a lot of Digitalis it can cause heart rhythm irregularities and possible sudden death. Each dosage should be carefully examined and watched after by making sure that the measures are right.

If you are on other medications it could create problems with Digitalis. Check with your doctor and see if Digitalis would benefit you and make your heart stronger.
