What is Dissecting aortic aneurysm

Dissecting aortic aneurysm is a very serious condition and can actually become life-threatening. Bleeding starts happening around your major artery and it eventually starts leaving your heart resulting possibly in death regardless of any prior treatment.

Causes of Dissecting aortic aneurysm:

- hypertension
- vasculitis
- bicuspid aortic valve
- turner syndrome
- marfan syndrome
- syphilis

There are several ways a doctor can confirm if a Dissecting aortic aneurysm happened. Some of the ways are ECG, chest x ray, Transesophageal echocardiography, Biochemical markers, Computed tomography angiography and a MRI.

A lot of famous people have died of Dissecting aortic aneurysm such as Lucille Ball, Mike Wieringo, John Ritter, Ted Bessel and King George II of Great Britain. There have been some to survive such as Dr.Michael E Debakey and Jose Miguel Arroyo. Survivors often increase physical activity and change their eating habits to help make their heart stronger.
