Essential thrombocytosis is a blood disorder that is rare and often times chronic. Your platelets become overproduced from megakaryocytes located at your bone marrow.Sometimes Essential thrombocytosis is progressive and can cause myelofibrosis or either acute myeloid leukemia.

Some people require treatment but some do not. Aspirin is given at a low dose to help with reducing the possibility of getting thrombosis. During pregnancy a patient is often watched after very carefully to make sure that complications such as Essential thrombocytosis do not happen.

There is still a lot of research being done on Essential thrombocytosis to determine how else it can be treated and what herbal supplements might be beneficial for this disorder. Right now doctors also say that a healthy diet and no stress can help prevent Essential thrombocytosis. If a person is at risk for this disorder you should talk to your doctor and find out ways that you can make your heart and body stronger to hopefully prevent  Essential thromocytosis.
