What Does Sleep Apnea have to do with Heart Disease?

Sleep Apnea is a condition where there is a temporary cessation of breathing during sleep this is a cycle that repeats its self and can be dangerous for the person suffering from sleep apnea. This can be threatening when there is also hypertension, and it is a condition that is also known to cause hypertension.

Sleep apnea is often caused by common problems such as tonsillitis, and adenoiditis, obesity can also be a factor in sleep apnea. The cause can also be from structural defects in the throat and is then considered obstructive sleep apnea.

In some cases of sleep apnea the person that has the affliction is unaware that it exists, other than the possibility that they know that they snore. This is often a condition that would be discovered at a sleep clinic or by the physician and should be ruled out by the heart patient as a serious complication.
