Yes it can and many people don’t even know that they have Sleep Apnea; anyone can have sleep apnea. Children have Sleep Apnea also.
Apnea means to stop breathing or without breath. Sleep apnea left untreated can cause high blood pressure and other cardiovascular disease, memory problems, weight gain, impotency, and headaches.
There are several symptoms to sleep apnea you may have one or most of symptoms:
- Excessive daytime sleepiness
- Emotional problems
- Restless sleep
- Loud snoring
- Gasp breaths when sleeping
- Frequent arousals
- Lack of awareness of the frequent wakening
- Falling asleep while driving
- Falling asleep during the day
- Morning headaches

- Daytime mouth breathing: Most children with obstructive sleep apnea have tonsillar hypertrophy, adenoid hypertrophy, or both.
