Ventricular Heart Disease Facts |
Ventricular Tachycardia is heart problem that is marked by a fast heart rhythm. There are different causes of tachycardia, such as congenital heart defects, a past heart attack, or even a past heart surgery. Sometimes there is even no known cause for this condition. There are also more temporary, easily treatable causes of this condition including the taking of certain types of medication or illegal drugs or even just chemical imbalances. It is important for those who have had a temporary onset of ventricular tachycardia in the past to remember what caused it and to avoid the things that have caused to in order to prevent any permanent heart condition. Symptoms of Ventricular Tachycardia include palpitations, shortness of breath, dizziness, chest pain, and fainting (or near-fainting.) It is important for anyone experiencing these symptoms to see a doctor to prevent permanent heart conditions and to maintain good health. While ventricular tachycardia itself isn't a major problem, it can lead to other problems if it's not treated. One of these problems is known as ventricular fibrillation. The rhythm of a heart affected by ventricular tachycardia is regular, although fast. With ventricular fibrillation, the rhythm is fast and irregular. Because of this, the heart can stop pumping blood altogether and cause sudden cardiac death.
